DWSS is a single source of truth platform aimed to optimize construction workflow and approval process for 100+ construction sites.

Digital Works Supervision System (DWSS) is a B2B solution that allows digital submission, review, and approval of works & inspection documents, such as RFI forms and safety inspection forms, on a centralized portal accessible to multiple project teams.

Project overview I served as the UX/UI designer and researcher for this project, working closely with a cross-functional team to develop and implement the DWSS platform. My responsibilities included conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, designing the user interface, and iterating based on user feedback. Throughout the project, I focused on creating an intuitive and efficient digital solution that would streamline construction workflows and improve communication among various stakeholders.

Construction projects face challenges due to their complex nature, involving multiple stakeholders and intricate workflows.

Challenges

Construction projects typically involve multiple parties and require extensive paper documentation to record site activities, maintain safety standards, and navigate approval processes. This reliance on paper leads to miscommunication and inefficiency as team members often refer to different versions of documents.

Goals

To consolidate all information on a cross-platform project management application, creating a single source of truth. This aims to streamline communication, documentation, and approval processes in the workflow.

It's time to broaden our perspective and consider the root cause

Our personas reveal concerns that extend far beyond simple documentation issues—they're grappling with the complexities of intricate construction workflows. This crucial insight leads us to identify the fundamental problem at the heart of the matter: the intricate dance of workflow management and collaboration among various parties involved in construction projects. By understanding this core issue, we can begin to develop solutions that address not just surface-level symptoms, but the underlying causes of inefficiency and miscommunication.
